How To Start A Blog In 20 Minutes Or Less – STEP 1

How To Start A BlogStep 1 – Blog Set Up

(total time = less than 10 minutes)

To get set up you only need to do 2 things:

  • Choose a domain name (“”).
  • Sign up for web hosting

And that’s it!

Choosing a domain name:

When you’re brainstorming for the perfect domain name, try to make sure that your name ideas are:

– short

– relevant

– unique

– catchy

– clear

Be sure to use .com instead of the other extensions like .co or .net.

And what if you’ve come up with an awesome domain name, only to find out that it’s already been taken? Don’t fret, it’s not the end of the world! Just pick the next best thing, keep moving forward and concentrate on creating an appealing blog packed with terrific content. Remember: It’s not the name of your blog that’s going to bring you success, it’s the stuff you put on your blog that’s going to engage your readers and keep them coming back for more.

Choosing a web host:

Since the number one goal of this guide is to get you set up with a professional-looking blog easily and quickly, the only web hosting company that I feel comfortable recommending is iPage. I use them for all my new online properties, and I think you will be super-satisfied with them as well.

  • I have found the service at iPage exceptional and the pricing one of the lowest around.
  • Users of this guide get a huge discount! Click on any iPage link in this guide and get over 70% OFF (you’ll pay around $3 per month!).
  • Registering your new Domain Name is totally FREE!

And to top it off,  iPage has “Live Chat” (with super-nice and helpful folks!) that is open 24/7. So if youset up christian blog ever have any questions you can get answers right away (even if it’s 2am on Sunday morning!). Of course, they also support you through phone and email, but the live chat is awesome.

Also, you can always just click on the “Ask Chaz” tab at the bottom of the page – I’m here to help you and I enjoy it! (And if you use my help to set up your blog, I’ll even receive a small commission from the web host. So don’t worry about bugging me – you’ll actually be helping me out)
